New customer who recently just moved in to this little terraced cottage in Aynho & requested to have open fire insert removed to open up recess for a stove to be fitted but still keep the stone surround, well what a shock when we started to widen the opening & an old inglenook was hiding behind it full of rubble, lots & lots of rubble !!! once removed & recess reduced back to smaller size & backfilled with heat resistant pellets, we installed concrete board, closureplate, & pipework to a Charnwood Country 4 stove, painted recess white & re-installed lime stone surround, New liner & insulation backfill in chimney chamber for heat retention, Spider lift for access as roof has wooden shingles, so cant support ladders, new pot & cowl. looks very cosy in the room & customer very happy…
