Sitting Room electric fire update
We were contacted by home owners who are doing lots of updating works to their lovely property in Bloxham & decided to have electric fire removed & new woodburning stove installed, after initial meeting with the husband & deciding on what design & finish was required, we agreed on the very popular Clearview Pioneer 400 5kw stove plus customer had seen one from one of our previous installations & liked it, We carefully removed the the wooden surround, granite inserts & hearth so customer can sell these on at later date, after removal of the fascia the recess opening was reduced in size with a stone which also required removal to allow a deeper recess for the stove to be situated, we installed a new concrete lintel, widened the opening, installed heat resistant boards in the recess, laid new slate hearth, closureplate, & set about making the chimney chamber wider as this had been nearly closed off, to our surprise in 6″ concrete & took a lot of chopping out but got there in the end, dropped new stainless steel liner, poured insulation pellets around liner in the chimney void for added insulation & protection, top plated, inserted & clamped off & fitted new buff pot & cowl, recess was completed & painted in customers required colour & clearview pioneer stove connected & commissioned, we installed a reclaimed 6x6x4ft oak beam & bolted to the wall & recessed, chimney breast was then rendered & plastered to give that clean finished look, Data plate & all paperwork inc CO detector fitted & completed with customer, who was extremely happy with the out come, as so were ourselves, Many Thanks for all the cold refreshments over the 2 day installation as this was the 2 hottest days of the year (hot !!!)
